Mark my words: A shift happening in the Global Church

Mark my words:

A major shift happening in the Global Church

I recently decided to start sharing some of the prophetic words and insights God was showing me. Over the last eight years, so many of the dreams - visions - “inclinations”- or revelations God has shown me have actually happened. In an attempt to steward these words well, I decided to start sharing the ones that I have prayed through, tested and believe are okay to be released.

I encourage you to pray through these words and ask God to speak to you and show you more. Any good prophetic words should be allowed to be tested.

The Word

Over the last 3-4 years I have been seeing God doing a shift within American Christianity. As I open up scripture and read the Gospels - I feel an unsettling in my spirit with churches that resemble concerts or business conferences.

In a desire to not be divisive and maintain unity, I have continued to pray for our churches and leaders while helping, encouraging and investing into churches that I believe are advancing Gods Kingdom.

The Church Becoming An Embassy

Two weeks ago, Victoria who leads one of our Orange County churches said that she believed God was turning our home (The Greens home) into a Heaven Embassy. She shared that it would be a place where people could come, find refuge, and see the benefits of the Kingdom. I loved this word, because as many of you know - our house is where we host one of our churches.

I wouldn’t of normally thought too much about this, yet over the last few days I couldn’t shake this word. Then, while working at a coffee shop - I overheard one young man saying to another this:

“Yes, that’s the problem with the church. It looks too much like the world. I think the church is supposed to serve more like an embassy.”

My heart started to burn as I believed that this was a word God was giving for the church,

An embassy is a place where an ambassador of another nation actually lives (which is a small confirmation on the micro church movement and churches being in homes). An embassy promotes it’s own home culture, economy and science in its host country. The embassy also protects the citizens and ambassadors from the sending country.

The Verses

2 Corinthians 5:20 states:

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Philippians 3:20 states:

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

These verses speak to the fact that the spiritual (invisible) realm IS real and where in fact believers that are born again belong. If our citizenship is in heaven, and we are Christs ambassadors then that means that our homes and churches are embassy’s of the Kingdom of Heaven.

A shift in The Church

I think the church is being realigned into its original intent - which is a place to equip believers to Go INTO all the world. I believe that salvations (and alter calls) will begin to happen on the streets, in our offices and in public. I believe that God is shifting the church to reflect the economy (generous, blessed, and selfless), culture ( full of love, reverent worship, honoring authority, committed to one another) and science ( healings, miracles, signs, wonders and power) of the Kingdom of Heaven. When this shift happens, church leaders will no longer have a need for “seeker friendly” services and/or attractional church models because it will be a reflection of what the world is truly looking for.

What are your thoughts? Have you seen any of these shifts happening?
